Pull your eyes away from the terrible economic bailout package bullshit for a few moments and focus on some of the stories coming out about what happened during the RNC-particularly in regards to police conduct. If this topic is boring to you, it shouldn't be. A number of terrifying stories are being told, and this is a chilling look at the future that may be in store for all of us. Anyone who would take the time to read my blog knows how I feel about the police. I can't think of one friend who I haven't had a discussion with about said topic. If you are still clinging to a false belief that cops are "mostly good" and a few bad apples isn't a way to judge them, think again. In my experience, 95% of the populous agrees with the police nearly 100% if the time, no matter what they are accused of or no matter the evidence. They simply give them a free pass. This is both wrong and harmful to a free society. One should always question the actions of it's oppressive government, and especially the actions of police. I have said it before and I will say it again: a police officer is one of the jobs that I respect least. I haven't decided if prosecutors are worse yet. Anyway, here is a good place to start to understand why police conduct during the RNC would make me enraged.

Some believe the target to be New York-based I-Witness Video, a group Whalen was allowing to stay at the duplex during the RNC.

That group, led by Eileen Clancy, helped exonerate 400 people charged in connection with protest activity at the 2004 Republican National Convention in New York.

The group films protest activity and uses the footage to verify or disprove police claims about protesters' conduct. In New York, the videos plainly contradicted sworn testimony of police officers and, in one case, appeared to show that police manipulated video in favor of the prosecution.

If you can't figure out why police may not appreciate Ms. Clancy's group...

Wow what happened? Five months sure goes quick. I thought I might make an attempt to post once and awhile again, Lee being the only regular poster left among the circle (see: Daddy, Jeremy, Rex, and myself.) I will do my best to keep it regular; Lee's recently acquired modified Xbox aside.

It's happening all around us. It used to be there, it used to be strong, but now it's pulse is weak. It gets weaker by the day. Like an old man with cancer, it fades away from us. The light becomes dimmer with each passing day. It's trying hard to hang on, but it groans from the massive weight that has been thrust upon it. The situation is not a good one, but there is still some hope for it.

There is still time to save it, to fix it, to heal it. To cure it's critical wounds. Action can be taken. It needs all of our help if it is to survive. What can we do to help it? I don't have the all the answers, merely suggestions. We need to protect it. We need to stop aiding it's enemies. Stop accepting the system. Stop accepting abuse. Stop fretting for your latte, your Prozac, your contract. Corruption. Lies. Bullshit. It's all bullshit. The same old things continue to drain it:

The war on drugs, the war on freedom, tersm, patriotism, nationalism, taxes, smoking bans, laws, regulations, cops, republicans, democrats, borders, corporations, universal health care, forced public transportation systems, sports stadiums, the blue wall of silence, TSA, BATF, forced pledges of allegiance, photo cops, speeding tickets, political conventions that require 10,000 armed jackboots. The list goes on and on and on. What can you do to shorten it? What can you do to help save it. Our dearest friend. It needs us now more than ever before.

Last weekend as Lee and I were preparing for our Fox News two minutes hate, Lee turned on professional wrestling. We had a few snickers at the current people wrestling, a couple of who we still recognized from watching wrestling in the mid-nineties. As the ensuing commercial ended, none other than Rowdy Roddy Piper walked into the ring. To make matters even more amusing, his tag team partner was The Nature Boy, Ric Flair. You should see this man now. He must be nearing 70. Needless to say much laughter was had.

The election is now behind us, and no surprises at all. The American people dutifully went to the polls and voted in a new set of liars and scumbags to smash their freedoms to pieces. To anyone who voted major party, I hope you are happy. Just remember, nothing will change. We must stop voting for these two destructive parties.

What makes Peter Hutchinson any less hypocritical than the politicians he thinks he is so different from? If he really cared about the issues that will make this a better state for Minnesotans, he would have thrown his support to Mike Hatch.

As for all those who voted for him, you too are sadly self-centered in your approach to the world. I am sorry for the personal, psychological neediness that always seems to manifest with spoiler candidates. Spoiler candidates impact the course of history -- sometimes as dramatically as the 2000 presidential election. Moving away from politics, I returned home Friday a day early from my hunting trip due to a torn rotator cuff epidemic. My uncle had to go back home early due to shoulder pain which was later diagnosed as a torn rotator cuff. Then on Friday afternoon my brother's shoulder hurt so bad he also had to depart. The thought was that he also had a torn rotator cuff, but it was later diagnosed as a herniated disc in the neck. It's like a new disease- man my shoulder hurts.

Drank with Dan, Lee, and Rex on Friday night. Towards the end of the night when it was just Dan left, we starting talking about hemorrhoids. I believe the conversation started when I was complaining about the steady diet of red meat I had been consuming while up north hunting and how the Metamucil should be on tap. I don't remember how it happened, but somehow Jesus was linked to having hemorrhoids due to Pontius Pilate.

Everyone should see the Family Guy clip about Hummers. Go Rumsfeld!

Do elections change anything? No. Not when the populous continues to think that the two party system is the answer. Or that they have to choose between the lesser of two evils. Take Minnesota's Gubernatorial race for example. Would you really want Mike Hatch or Tim Pawlenty to be your governor? God I hope not. Yet people think these are their only two choices. It is so frustrating to see the destructiveness that is caused by the two party system, yet it continues to prevail. You can't blame the politicians anymore, it's time to start blaming the public. Maybe it's that guy you work with, or your parents, or your significant other. It doesn't matter. It's time to tell them straight up: you are a fucking douchebag if you vote Republicrat or Demopublican. Nothing will change. Don't think that you will "teach congress a lesson" by running the GOP out of town. No folks, the joke is on us. Nothing will change, things will simply get worse regardless if the DFL or the GOP is in office. The police state will continue to prosper, rights will be trampled, and propoganda will rule the day.

Tape shows agent writing bogus tickets

NEW YORK - A sanitation agent was shown on videotape breaking light bulbs on the street in front of a restaurant and then writing a littering ticket to the restaurant's owner, a state assemblyman said.

The video shows the uniformed Department of Sanitation agent dropping several long fluorescent bulbs in the Brooklyn street. A street-sweeping truck cleans the mess soon after, and then the agent writes a $300 ticket to the restaurant's owner for improper disposal of the lights.

The ticket was issued Oct. 19 less than an hour after the H.K. Tea & Sushi restaurant's surveillance camera caught the agent breaking the bulbs.

Assemblyman William Colton, a Democrat who represents the neighborhood, said Monday he was furious that the Department of Sanitation would target store owners with bogus tickets. He said the agent pulled the same stunt on at least two other businesses on the block.

"The reality is he gave a ticket to three store owners for the same offense," Colton said.

He accused the city of encouraging its agents to write tickets to increase government revenue.

The store owners, who attended a news conference with Colton, were angered.

"Well, it bothers me," Martin Zalta said. "If I don't do something wrong, why should I get a ticket?"

The Department of Sanitation said it was investigating and planned to look at the videotape

Friend Says 2 Officers Shocked Man For Minute

MADISON TOWNSHIP , Ohio -- Madison Township police in Lake County suspended their use of Taser guns after a man died Friday.

Joseph Kinney, 36, died after officers shocked him with Taser guns several times, police said.

Police were called after receiving reports that Kinney was causing a disturbance and was allegedly on drugs. He had a criminal history in the township, police said.

When officers approached, police said Kinney fought the officers even after being shocked by the Taser gun.

Officials said Kinney continued to struggle until he became unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at Geneva Memorial Hospital at about 10 p.m.

Kinney's friend said two officers shocked him for more than a minute.

"When the guy's on the ground, you could have cuffed him. They could have used pepper spray. They could have done a number of things, but to use these lethal weapons in a manner like that," said Matthew Webb.

He said the officers should be suspended and investigated.

The autopsy is done but the cause of death is pending on the toxicology report.

Police officers were given Taser guns less than a month ago. The assistant police chief said the department has suspended using them until they can be sure they are working properly.

The Lake County Sheriff's Office will investigate the death.

The past weekend was a good time as well as a fast blur. I took Friday off work so I could take part in drinking heavily with Lee and Chad on Thursday. I have to give Lee accolades for his debates with Chad. Though I particiapted myself, I found it more enjoyable to listen to those two go round and round. Chad is fairly pro cop, and Lee made some wonderful arguements while never conceding an inch. Good job Brenn.

Speaking of cops, here is yet another sad example of how dangerous they are to society. Seven times huh?

So here we are 5 years later. What I will never forget about 9/11 are the innocent people who died. Regardless if you believe that the government orchestrated these attacks or that it was purely an act of terrorism, you shouldn't deny the memory of those innocent people who suffered at the hands of evil. I will always feel bad for those who lost loved ones that fateful day.

What I will also never forget are the ways the country has changed since, mostly for the worst, unfortunately. The V for Vendetta like tactics become evident. I will never forget watching my freedoms disappear at a rapid pace each year. I will never forget how cops treat people in this country. I won't forget having to give up my freedom at checkpoints to prove my innocence. I won't forget having my internet searches and my phone conversations monitored. I won't forget having this blog monitored. I won't forget smoking bans and tobacco fees. I won't forget having to pay for a stadium for a private corporation. I won't forget using fear tactics to get people to buckle up. I won't forget having to meet a quota for issuing parking tickets (it's to change behavior, not to make money-yeah, right). I won't forget any of the numerous ways my liberty has been extinguished. Will you? Feel free to add to this never ending list.

You should take the time to read this short article about politicians and Wikipedia that was in the paper. I don't know if it will make you as mad as it made me, but it should upset you. Wikipedia deserves a lot of praise for sticking to their guns and not making any exceptions for these dirtbags. I love when these guys try to erase promises they have made such as serving a term limit. Wow.

Oh, and I chuckled when I read this article. "It was horrifying to see a shotgun!"

I discovered a new website last night, called CCARL. I haven't looked it over real well yet, but it seems to be a decent site. Most of it is dedicated to being anti-stadium, which is fine with me. They have some good quotes and the classic picture of Tim Douchebag signing the stadium bill in his Twins jersey. Let me know what you think of it. I just noticed that they also support Sue in her futile attempt in the primary-surprised I didn't hear about them from Lee already.

Sorry for all the articles, but there has been a lot in the news lately. Here is one that is sure to get your blood boiling. I know it got Lee upset when I e-mailed it to him last week, and with good reason. "We do mean business. If they don't get off the streets voluntarily, we're going to take them off the streets," said Acting Transportation Secretary Maria Cino. Law enforcement will use sobriety checkpoints and additional patrols that target problem roads and sporting events, festivals or concerts where people may be drinking excessively. Oh goodie, checkpoints!

End of the weekend blues.

::Sigh:: The too quick end of another weekend. The upcoming work week is laughing with anticipation. I haven't updated in awhile (and I personally apologize to Jeremy). I don't really have an excuse for this, I have just been busy and of course lazy. I had started to update a couple times, but never finished an acceptable product. This weekend was mostly uneventful aside from the party that I attended with Lee and Kari at Zach's apartment in Maple Grove. That was a good time. Like Lee said on his post earlier, everyone sort of fizzled out early. After seeing Rex for a bit, the night ended with Lee talking me into viewing an episode of Firefly.

I did forget to mention last weekend though. Rex accompanied me to Mystic Lake Casino last Friday, and I turned out to have a stroke of luck for once. On the way to the ATM to prepare for blackjack I decided to shove 20 bucks in the dollar slot machine. After getting down to my last 5 credits, I happened to hit an 150 dollar payout. So I played a little while longer and hit another 150, a 75, and a few other small payouts to end up with 420 bucks. I still wanted to play some blackjack so I convinced Rex to sit down a second time (he had lost some cash while I was winning mine) and he was able to regain all of his losses. Rex left having broke even, and I was the new owner of a few hundred dollar bills. That was a successful casino trip. Thanks for driving Rex.

This is one of the grossest things I have read about recently. I don't know about everyone else, but I just don't like parasites that suck blood while I sleep. Hopefully Hill Plaza can avoid such an unpleasant visitor.

Ah, more MySpace news to report. It seems that politicians are distressed that folks are creating fake MySpace pages about them. I am sure once the politicians get mad enough, we will see legislation attempting to fix this abomination. Every time I read a story like this I can't help but feel happy I don't have a MySpace page. Oh and Sue was at the end of this article. Perhaps someone will create a fake MySpace page about her? And while on the subject of MySpace, don't forget to visit www.myspace.com/hadesraze.

Did you read about the Zombie story recently? It's upsetting, because of how they were treated by the cops, but amusing as well because I immediately thought of Lee. I think this is one case where he supports the cops, since he hates Zombies so much. But in all seriousness, this event gives us yet another chance to rip on the police. Simulated weapons of mass destruction? Wow. This particular story seemed to only generate support for cops, which the general public is unequivically in support of. "They have the toughest, most dangerous job out there- leave em' alone!" Yeah yeah. It never ceases to amaze me that most folks I talk to don't realize that there is anything wrong with the current law enforcement system. One should definitely visit the link I posted about the parking ticket quotas in Downtown St. Paul. 55 tickets for you shift! Mayor Coleman needs a new BMW! Come on, guys! But remember, this is about changing behavior, NOT making money. DO NOT tell anyone we are trying to make money. We are issuing tickets for the good of the community! Ha. There is nothing like trying to change behvior using fear tactics, wether it involves monetary punishment or physical punishment. Or both. The bottom line is that nothing can change until more of us realize the big problems in this system, stand up, and do something about it. We don't live in a police state like Chicago or NY, but it's getting closer every day. You are already fucked if you have a MySpace account. Oh well, that's my rant. You have a right to remain silent, if you so choose.

Poker night didn't happen again last weekend. Perhaps next time. Lee continues to cough up a storm, it's pretty gross. He knows what ails him though, he has a medical degree.

It's been a long week, mostly related to work. We are getting a completely new core system installed so I was working a decent amount of overtime. I even had to go in today for 5 hours. First time I have worked on a Saturday in almost 4 years. At least traffic was obviously non existent and parking was free downtown. And the bank paid for lunch, so I guess it wasn't horrible. Just annoying. I made up for getting up before 9 on a Saturday by taking a nap this afternoon. Speaking of this afternoon, on my way home from work my car thermometer (which is pretty accurate) read 102 degrees. It may not have been that hot, but it couldn't have been more than a degree or two off. Ick. This is when summer sucks the most. I decided I don't like July much.

Huh, it appears Sue J. has picked a running mate. Not that it matters much. Apparently Sue is in to picking Immigration Reform running mates. Funny. Certainly doesn't sound very Libertarian, does she? But I guess that Sue is looking for a Republican. Remember, it is very important the Lt. Governor of Minnesota take a hard line stance on immigration.

Hendrycks, who has never sought elective office before, is the president of a group she founded in March, Minnesotans Seeking Immigration Reform.

The group takes a harder line against illegal immigration than President Bush and Gov. Pawlenty, and it opposes guest-worker programs or any forms of amnesty for illegal immigrants.

Not a lot else to speak of right now..I started playing Baldur's Gate II again, since I never finished it the first time around. I also checked out the ddo website as Clint suggested, though I haven't signed up for the free trial yet. Congratulations to MacKinney and Bonk on the progress with the house.

The long weekend is drawing to a close, and it sure seemed to go fast. At least it is Wednesday tomorrow already. Three day work weeks are a good thing.

The trip up north was a decent time. Got some fishing in, but the weather could have been a little cooler.

Thanks to Dan for coming to the Monday Pearl Jam show with me. I was also at the Tuesday show, and both were excellent. Hopefully next time they won't be opening for anyone though.

It was good to hear from MacKinney and Bonk- both seem to be doing ok in NH. Rex had a nice encounter with a police officer this weekend. Good job Rex! The coming week brings nothing of note until poker on Saturday night. For now I am going to head down to Fern's for awhile with Lee.

Quite the distance between posts. My apologies for the tardiness.

As most everyone knows, Jeremy and Bonk are now officially in New Hampshire. I hope everything is going ok, and that they enjoy their new state. Nik left for PorcFest on Thursday evening. I was asked multiple times to attend this year, but didn't have the vacation time or money available. I hope to make it next year. Thanks for hosting the party last weekend Nik! And thanks to Lee and Kari for attending the party at my parents' place.

Last night's gathering was a great time. Lee's cousin Tiffanie is in St. Paul for a wedding or something. Rex, Andrew, Lee, Kari, Zach, Tiffanie and I had some good conversation while enjoying Lee's remaining absinthe. Lee also picked me up a bottle of Wiser's Whisky and some Gentleman Jack for my Birthday. Thanks Lee! The night came to a close with a showing of Reservoir Dogs, since Tiffanie had never seen it. I watched about half before passing out.

As we were talking about cops, strip clubs, finances, and Rez Dogs, I felt MacKinney's absence. I am sure he would of enjoyed the evening and the topics of conversation. I am attempting to recruit Rex into the Giggle Crew; though Jeremy is irreplaceable. Lee certainly enjoyed the lack of Giggle Crew giggles. You will be missed Jeremy. I know NH will treat you well though. But don't forget to contact me before posting anything on your blog. LOL.

Poker is supposedly taking place tonight, though Lee is still in bed (imagine that).

I am excited for the two Pearl Jam shows I will be attending on Monday and Tuesday at The X. I hope Dan is still interested in coming to Monday's show. The reviews they have been receiving have been superb. Maybe Mr. Petty will be ok live as well.

Back from up north and back to a 5 day work week. Shitty. The trip with Lee and Jeremy was a great time though. Lee posted some of the better pictures. Plenty of drinkin' and shootin' took place.

Busy this weekend- Jeremy and Bonk's going away party on the 16th, and a party at my parents' place on the 17th. One can never have too many parties I guess.

Here we stand, packed and ready to embark on the trip north to my old man's land. Jeremy, Lee, Roger, and myself will have three days of drink, shooting, eating, and rowdiness. I am looking forward to the Steel Toe Boots: the do's and do not's chapter.

Another week between posts. I must admit I am at somewhat of a loss for words. I have the same conundrum as Jeremy-my fellow blogging colleagues have done a superb job of covering a lot of important topics, no matter how depressing their posts might be. This leaves me with little to post about at the moment. I will spare you the sobering and depressing ideas that others have touched on recently.

Planning for the big up north trip with MacKinney and Lee next weekend. That promises to be a good time. Me and Lee will be making a trip to Sportsman's Warehouse in Woodbury next week to get ammo and other supplies we may need. Three shortened work weeks in a row!

I am getting excited for the upcoming Pearl Jam concert this month. I need to get in touch with Dan to see if he can still make the show. I hope so. Otherwise Lee will be forced to go.

While on the way home from our employers this afternoon, me and Lee heard quite the awful song on 93X by the one and only Buckcherry. I think it is called "Crazy Bitch". We couldn't stop laughing about it. Oh Bukcherry, you suck so. Listen to it here.

I went to the new Sportsman's Warehouse in Woodbury this evening. It's really nice, but almost overwhelming at times. You could easily spend more time in there than originally intended. They did fail to carry Lee's much sought after non-corrosive 8mm ammo. Oh well.

A little long between posts, I know. I attempted to post on Saturday and couldn't successfully load the Blogger website to do so. Oh well. What's new? Nothing too spectacular. Went to MacKinney and Rex's on Satruday evening, as Lee had to work on Sunday. Good times. Thanks for the cocktails MacKinney!

Busy as hell this week in preparation for a long Memorial Day Weekend. I will be going up north and will most likely be doing a lot of fishing. I need to do errands this week for the trip and also get an oil change. Hopefully they can put 10W-30 in my car this time instead of 5W. God.

As you are probably presently aware, the Twins and Gophers both achieved their evil stadium dreams. The Star Tribune sports writers were elated in today's paper. Most of all Sid Hartman. I hate that fucking douchebag. What else is going down? AT&T sells out to the NSA, The Supreme Court upholds powers for cops, blah blah blah.

How about that Da Vinci Code movie? It's enough to make you want to protest huh? Wow. I just cannot believe how serious and passionate people are over a fucking movie. A woman whom I work with told me her pastor gave an "anti Da Vinci Code movie" sermon a Sunday or two ago. These people involved in organized religion are living under an umbrella of bullshit that makes them feel better. They can't face the possibility that something different than what is preached could be out there. They can't even see a movie based on a shitty fiction novel, or they might go to hell. Pretty open minded folks. Everyone who doesn't go to church just shut up!

Perhaps something more entertaining? I had the KQ morning show on briefly while driving to work this morning, and they mentioned how Axl Rose got in a scuffle with Tommy Hillfiger. Totally Detroit.

Just a quick little post friends. The weekend approaches fast, and it is going to be a busy one. Happy hour with some co-workers tomorrow and then the smokers' meetup. Don't miss your chance to see the Giggle Crew in action for the first time in a couple weeks!

Saturday I need to make an appearance at my Sister's B-Day party at Tuggs on St. Anthony Main, and then I hope for a successful poker night. Sunday is Mom's Day. Jeremy is very excited about this.

I need to mention that Lee demanded that I make him a corn dog tonight, so I baked him up one. He grabbed this honey battered creation and scuttled into his room where he tore into it like a rabid badger. The things I do for him.

Plenty of angry things to post about, but the energy isn't here at the moment. Sleep deprivation is prevalent.

Huh, a long absence between posts. Oh well, I guess it happens. I have been lazier than normal this week. What to say? Not much. I have decided to move away from the traditional stadium tax conversation, at least for now. Lee mentions an e-mail conversation we had about the tax/referendums earlier this week. Check Lee's blog to view one of his proud responses.

Poker was a good time with Rex and MacKinney coming through to make it as usual. One unfortunate accident with a rusty machete. It will make a great story in the future though.

I love that the major point that stadium supporters make is "But it's baseball! Don't you like baseball? Don't you want the Twins here?!! Don't you care about losing the Twins?

No, fuck the Twins, and fuck almost everyone in the legislature.

You would think with me being a man who enjoys his sports, I'd be happy. But I am not. Far from it. You see, it is simple. It all comes down to where your heart is really at. And I happen to love liberty far more than sports. Minnesota seems to be on verge of joining other states in funding a new stadium(s) for The Twins, The Gophers, and possibly the Vikings. The estimated cost of the Twins stadium is $522 million dollars, a $248 million dollar stadium for the Gophers, and a $1 billion dollar sports, retail, and entertainment development in Blaine for the Vikings. When these proposals go through, all common sense dies. To me it is like the smoking ban- it should be a common sense issue, but it isn't. Politicians don't see things the way you and I do, felllow liberty lovers. What they are saying is ANYONE (in Hennepin County) who makes a purchase of a certain dollar amount or over is forced to pay into this stadium tax for the Twins. How can this be right? We know it isn't, but today's politicians don't care. They giddily pass new law after new law, and new tax after new tax, knowing that the public simply isn't going to do anything about it. Knowing that there may not be anything they CAN do about it. Referendum? You don't need that, you had your chance when you elected us. Yes, today's politicians have long perfected shitting on the Constitution (in this case including the state Constitution), but now they have run out of toilet paper and are using common sense to wipe their ass's. :::sigh::: I don't know what else to do about these things, my friends. Nothing can change for the better until the populous understands the assault that is being launched on them....

And...GO HARDEE'S! I am sure we will see a bill to regulate what fast food establishments can put on their menu's sometime in the future. But Hardee's will create what unhealthy creations they can in the meantime!

MySpace has issues.

There was more MySpace articles this week than you could shake a stick at. It's pretty funny actually. One story about some kids in Coon Rapids who created a webpage in the name of a teacher who are now being investigated for possible felony charges. Another about a kid getting kicked out of school for saying he was gay on his MySpace, and another about a woman who harassed a 13 year old boy via MySpace (successfully violating her parole). Pretty soon the cops will have a special task force dedicated to probing and policing MySpace. I can imagine it now- "Come out with your hands up, we know you have a MySpace account!" Reminds me how two weekends ago around 4pm there was 7 cop cars surrounding a house a few blocks down Arundel Street. We all had different theories-someone under 21 had a beer, someone had pictures of themselves drinking underage on MySpace, someone smoked pot, or as Lee said, someone commited a thought crime. They will have to start calling it MySpace.gov

I have noticed a couple of things since the smoking ban went into affect in St. Paul. First, the parking lot outside of Fern's is much much emptier. Second, Selby Avenue is much, much louder at night because people now have to congregate outside of Costello's so they can enjoy a legal tobacco product. This can be very annoying when you are trying to sleep. It usually stays fairly boistorous until 2am most nights. There isn't anyone to blame but the government though (imagine that). The way it sounds reminds me of a busy street market. Sucks.

Last weekend was a decent time. MacKinney and Rex stopped over on Saturday for some conversation and drinks. Me and Lee went in on White Russian supplies. It is such a relaxing drink. The only downside was Lee wouldn't stop dancing with people. :) Sunday brought an early Easter dinner with the parents and grandparents.

The Peak Oil Meeting was....Interesting.

A traffic jam of a weekend is brewing. Tax Rally, LPMN Convention, Hold Em' Tourney, and Poker on Saturday. Twins vs. Yankees on Sunday afternoon. And coming soon, the new Fotki account! I have to take credit for getting that shiznat going. Should be easier to centralize some pics now. And read this, I just found it! Pepper balls and tasers. Get out of the car! GET OUT OF THE CAR!

Don't Come Around Here No More.

Ugh. I was totally excited to post that Pearl Jam will be coming to The X in June, but I am not totally excited that they are playing with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. At least it is a co-headlining event. I will probably go to both shows and hopefully drag Lee to one of them. Oh well, at least there is the new CD to look forward to.

Other news..What news? Poker came and went. Nothing of significance going on this weekend. The Libertarian Party Convention approaches. That should be entertaining for a multitude of reasons. Check out Lee's picture! Eminent Domain continues to be the talk of the day, and for good reason. Once again, pro eminents (idiots) Like Kendall Crosby continue to harp and preach how great Eminent Domain really is. Whatever. About as great as a vasectomy. Read the latest report from The Red Star if you are interested at all.

Work has sucked- it has been a solid week of training and another week of it next week. Damned new systems. Roger drug me to Scoop's Pub in Coon Rapids on Sunday night yet again. Hopefully this will be avoided once and awhile, although it is necessary at times. He did make it easier to go last Sunday after reminding me I could still smoke there. Some small family issues continue to simmer because I haven't attempted to take care of it yet. I fear the results won't be what is desired. Oh well, you can't always get what you want. On a different note, I am very grateful for the return of Baseball and more importantly my Yankees. Will be attending the Easter Sunday game against the Twinkies.

Funeral for a Friend.

I attended a funeral last night. There was a lot of people there. But it wasn't for a person. No, this was a much more somber occasion. This was for a right. Call it any right you want- the right to smoke, the right of a business owner to choose if people smoke, or just a basic human freedom. Any way you look at it, government has no place becoming involved. On any level. Unfortunately, we live in a society where majority rules. And even more unfortunate is the fact that the general populous doesn't realize the danger in this. I could go on forever about the bad arguements on the pro smoking ban side. But we all know they don't hold water. The idea that this is a public health issue is the biggest load of bullshit ever. Anyone that doesn't realize why simply doesn't deserve the time of day. This is just the beginning. Pretty soon smoking won't be allowed on sidewalks, or in casinos, or even outside in public. Prohibition might as well start now. Smokers are seen as second class citizens- evil people who don't care about their health or the health of others. But as the saying goes, "smoking is healthier than fascism." Government involvement and oppression continues at a torrid pace, fucking different groups in the ass each day. Most who will read this already agree. But if we can't change the majority's mind soon, other freedoms will soon fall. Name anything. Gun ownership, driving at a certain hour of the day, etc, etc. Very disturbing trends march along in the shadows, many of them with the backing of the stupid ass populous, who can't seem to see the light. Police State USA is a terrifying thing, and it is bearing down on us like a freight train. :(

April Fool's poker comin' your way. Come if you can, drink yourself into oblivion and play some cards. It makes you forget about the heavy hand of government. At least for a few hours anyway. And you can smoke here!

Only a few topics on my mind at the moment. The final (probably) smoker's meetup at Fern's happens on Thursday, March 30. Not sure where the more permanent home of the meetup will be. There is a certain bar in mind, but they don't serve liquor and that kind of blows. Being drunk is a vital part of the smoker's meetup experience. Plus, what would Lee drink?

I alerted Lee that one of his folk heroes, Captain Malcolm Reynolds (aka Nathan Fillion) from Firefly has just completed a new horror movie called Slither. It looks pretty hit or miss if you ask me. I don't know if I would risk 8 bucks at the big screen to see it. If you like aliens though you would probably enjoy. It also stars Robert Zombie, if that excites you. Dragula!

There is Government oppression to speak of, as always. Poor Mr. Cina will be forced to pay $77,000.oo to the city of Eagan for something he didn't want at all. Surprising. Nope! See previous posts comment box for MacKinney's endless examples of police departments and their goal of revenue over public safety. Also not surprising. Meanwhile in Seattle, some douche shot up a Rave Party. But this was no ordinary rave. This was a Zombie Raver Party. How much did you pay him, Lee? :) We know you hate Zombies! Even Raver Zombies!

Poker on Saturday. Stupid Daylight Saving Time comes into play during poker. How annoying. MacKinney and Rex will be there, will you?

There Oughta NOT be a law.

It's been a frustrating week so far for political issues. On Monday, I read about this exciting new bill that two Republican fuckheads in the Minnesota House are creaming themselves to get passed. I would hope just reading it would be self explanatory as to why it is so maddening, but I suppose not everyone will be upset by it. I can tell you why it upsets me. Should the government really be in the business of regulating the hours in which certain groups of people can operate a motor vehicle? Should they regulate the ages of the passengers that one can have in their car? The problem is, most people won't be outraged by this simply because it doesn't affect them (which is so very wrong and a terrible reason to not care, if you ask me). In my opinion, the 16-18 year old age group is frequently the target of new laws to make society "better" or "safer" even though this age group isn't allowed to vote for the people making these horsheshit laws about them (see laws about power hours, cell phones while driving, purchasing cold medication, etc.). Quite naturally, the general public cheers on these politicians as Champions of the People for laws like these. "Thank God you passed that law; I always said there oughta be a law about that!" What a dangerous thing to say- "There Oughta Be A Law." Think about it, do we really need new laws to make society a better place? State legislators seem to think so, that's all they do. They giddily pass law after law after law, and most of these laws allow the cops to have more power, and more power, and more power, which of course they love to have. This whole process seems to confuse me, and perhaps I am the only one. For some reason creating needless laws that grant cops more opportunities to enforce these laws doesn't excite me. But hey, that's just me. Aside from the other issues of the week- FEC trying to regulate blogs, the State House trying to give cops the power to question immigration status, and this stupid marriage amendment bullshit, things couldn't be better. Oh, and get ready to put your cigarettes out in St. Paul establishments on March 31. Government can't allow the business owner to choose if people can smoke in his or her own establishment. It's too dangerous to non smokers and it's just plain icky! Because, you know, non smokers can't start their OWN bar or restaurant. I blame this on the general public just as much as I do the morons in the City Councils. All the more reason to show up to the Smoker's Meetup Finale on the 30th.

Sorry for the angry, tirade of a post. I can't promise it won't happen again though. Government oppression runs deep.

I can't believe I finally did it..

That's right. I can't believe I created a blog. After all this time of holding out. I guess you could say I gave in to MacKinney and and Lee's intense peer pressure, but I think more than that I wanted to try it out, and have a chance to express myself. Who knows, I might actually enjoy it. I promise to try my best to keep somewhat frequent posts, unlike some who have been swallowed by the pressures of keeping up a blog. All I know is it will only take me four posts to pass Nik. Seems like a manageable goal, for now. Who knows what I will write about-all I can hope is that it is somewhat intelligent, humorous, and interesting. So here's to my future Blogger success!

Now, on to more important business. My first official post just happens to be on a poker night. Today is also Rex's birthday. We can all drink to that (except Rex)! Yesterday's St. Patrick's Day Dream Theater concert was a pretty decent show. Before the show started I met Lee and Jim at Keys for a couple drinks. MacKinney and Bonk showed up, as they were headed to some show at First Ave. Before arriving at the State Theater, Jim picked up some Captain Morgan and smuggled it in. This was a nice addition to the concert. Thanks Jim! I am sure Lee would agree probably not their best show ever, but still rockin'. Thanks to Lee for getting the tickets.
